Stonewall National Monument

It will be the first LGBTQ visitor center within the National Park Service’s network of public parks and monuments. The funders are a who’s-who of queer celebs and LGBTQ-friendly corporations.

Under the Trump administration, activists weren’t able to raise a flag pole or Pride flag on the federally-operated land despite repeated requests.

A regularly held, trans-led rally ended with police sieging the crowd near the LGBTQ rights landmark. NYC’s “second-in-command” official was shoved – but Bill de Blasio shrugs it off.

“We are frankly on the verge of an infrastructure crisis, and I think because of the experience I have had, I am best positioned to represent this district,” Blair says.

The Stonewall Inn is a national monument to LGBTQ rights, but the administration didn’t want to fly the pride flag. So they gave the flagpole outside it to New York City.

While the LGBTQ community is suffering under the Trump administration, some good moves were made – but often came with a catch.

Best known for his extravagance and crazy antics, he also hands out taxpayer funded coins with his own name on them to visitors.

The National Park service was a sponsor the event being held at Stonewall, but they have now abruptly withdrawn from today’s ceremony.

Sen. Chuck Schumer said the grant sends a clear message to President Trump that Stonewall’s national monument designation is here to stay.
