Republicans have been spending the last several years on social media denouncing pronouns as a way to attack transgender equality. Several Republican elected officials – like Reps. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) – have claimed bizarre non-pronouns to be their pronouns as a way to make fun of the practice of sharing one’s pronouns in progressive and LGBTQ spaces.
But former Republican Congressional candidate Lavern Spicer just took the cake.
“Stop teaching kids pronouns and start teaching them grammar!” she exclaimed on Twitter.

Have you ever wondered what sorts of things make up “grammar”?

You do realize that pronouns are part of grammar, right?
Tweets like this help folks outside of your district understand why you were overwhelmingly rejected by the people to represent the people.

You were voted out. That means we don’t care what you have to say. 2/3 of the people in your district can’t stand you. pic.twitter.com/eQOn7oMKdE

Earlier this year, Spicer criticized pronouns by saying that “there are no pronouns in the Constitution.” People pointed out that the first word in the Constitution is a pronoun.
She also said that pronouns are a “big distraction” because people who are referred to with pronouns still have to pay taxes. She did not point to anyone who claimed that pronouns are useful for tax evasion.
