Hillary Clinton makes historic appearance at NYC Pride parade

Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic candidate for President, marched the Pride parade in New York City today.

 

Clinton is the first Presidential candidate from a major political party to participate in a Pride parade. Fans of the candidate expressed surprise and excitement at seeing the former Secretary of State up close and personal.

Gay political strategist Richard Socarides caught video of the crowd’s reaction.

This isn’t the first time Clinton has marched in a Pride parade.

Just before the parade began, Clinton’s campaign released a Pride video, in which a host of LGBTQ staff and supporters share their Pride wishes and the reasons they believe Clinton is good for the LGBTQ community. Check it out below.
