Preacher says Chicago’s Black lesbian mayor is a nonbinary “beast” in hateful rant

Brother Jason Graber of the Sure Foundation Baptist Church in Spokane, Washington suggested that Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) – the first LGBTQ+ person and Black woman to hold that office – isn’t human. He also called her a slur and said that she’s “not a ‘he’ or a ‘she.'”

“The former mayor of Chicago, that is a beast!” Graber shouted at his congregation. “OK? If it’s not a beast, it’s a literal alien. OK? That thing is not a human being.”

While Lightfoot lost her election last month, she is still the mayor of Chicago. A runoff election will be held in April and then it will be some time before the winner is sworn into office.

“The former mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, also known as Beetlejuice, which I’m assuming meant she looks like you took a beetle and crushed it and whatever landed on the plate is what she looks like,” Graber continued before calling her a slur. “Just in case you think I’m being too hard on her, she’s a fa***t!”

He then suggested that Lightfoot isn’t a woman, although he gave no reason why he thinks she isn’t.

“And I’m not even sure it’s a ‘she’ or not. I don’t know if anybody knows if it’s actually a ‘she’ or you know, but, but either way, it’s not a ‘he’ or a ‘she,’ it’s deserving of neither, it’s a beast, it’s a beast in Chicago, a disgusting filthy beast in Chicago, OK?” he said.

“It’s disturbing because she… You know, it! It doesn’t even have to, like, put on any weird outfits like the drag queens do. In any clothes, it’s just a freak of nature, it’s a beast, it’s a horrible beast that needs to be dealt with.”

Sure Foundation is a New Independent Fundamental Baptist (New IFB) church, a movement in Christianity that is extremely hateful, especially to LGBTQ+ people.

In February, Graber called gay people “AIDS dispensers” who should not be “able to breathe air.”

“One of the big mistakes I think [Donald Trump] made were they were having a campaign to make it so that fa**ots could donate blood,” he continued. “That’s a stupid thing to do. You’re gonna kill a lot of people by doing that. I mean we call them AIDS dispensers for a reason.”

“No fa***t should be able to donate blood, but then again no fa***t should be able to breathe air.”

Last year, Graber insisted that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) – another rightwing extremist – is a fake conservative because she’s a woman who works.

“Today we have Marjorie Taylor Greene,” he continued, “and anybody that votes for her, you’re not a real conservative. Fake conservative.”

“Marjorie Taylor Greene should be at home, being obedient to her husband.”

Last week, Graber’s church, Sure Foundation, tweeted from its account that it is getting death threats after calling for the death of LGBTQ+ people so many times.

“When someone actually follows through with one of the MANY threats to rape and kill me, my family, and blow up and kill everyone in my church, including women and children and many other vile and filthy things threatened. What will you say?” the church tweeted.
