Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has been running defense for the Capitol Insurrectionists for years, claiming originally that they were secretly leftwing activists who were trying to make Trump supporters look bad and then voting against creating the January 6 commission to investigate the attempt to violently overturn the 2020 election results.
But her latest excuse for the insurrectionists is even stranger: they only did it once, so it’s no big deal.

“The American people are fed up with this over-dramatization of a riot that happened here at the Capitol one time,” Wong wrote that Greene said. “They are sick and tired of Jan. 6 — it’s over, OK?”
Greene, though, got so mad at how her words were reduced to “a twisted sound bite of… words” that she posted video of what she actually told Wong.
Which… showed that she said what Wong said she said, although he didn’t transcribe her full rant about how Congress should only be focused on gas prices and immigration instead of working on multiple issues, including defending democracy.
