A Democratic activist suggested that Russia may have evidence of a “serious sexual kink” involving Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

Jon Cooper, chair of a major Super PAC called The Democratic Coalition, tweeted yesterday that an unnamed Republican believes that Graham is being blackmailed for a kink. He did not say who specifically was blackmailing the senator.

Graham, 63, has never been married and has no children. He has long been rumored to be gay, but last October he responded to the rumors by saying, “To the extent that it matters, I’m not gay.”

Cooper is gay and said that he doesn’t care about Graham’s sexuality as much as he cares about Graham being blackmailed.

Frequent Fox News guest Glenn Greenwald, who is also gay, called Cooper’s tweets “repulsive, homophobic gutter trash.”

It seems like Greenwald thought he was helping, but then he said that Cooper’s tweets inspired others to call Graham a pedophile, even though most people reading either Greenwald’s or Cooper’s tweets wouldn’t have thought anyone was accusing Graham of pedophilia.

Graham has long been an opponent of LGBTQ equality. He supported a federal constitutional amendment to ban marriage equality, voted against attempts to ban employment discrimination, voted against a bill to allow same-sex couples in D.C. to adopt, and even compared marriage equality to polygamy.
