Respect for Marriage Act

The Respect for Marriage Act (RFMA) is a proposed bill in the U.S. Congress that would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and require the U.S. federal government to recognize the validity of same-sex marriages. The bill would not compel individual states to recognize same-sex marriages.
