Mary Trump, the out lesbian niece of Donald Trump and a clinical psychologist, made a cutting observation about Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) and, by extension, all Republicans.

She shared a clip of Reynolds saying that she would support Donald Trump after he won the caucuses in her state, even after he insulted her just prior to the caucuses.

The day before the caucuses, Donald Trump called Reynolds the “least popular governor” in the country because she endorsed his rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, in the GOP primary, instead of staying neutral in her party’s presidential primary like most governors do. She said she endorsed DeSantis because “there’s just too much at stake.”

“I just thought it was very disloyal,” Donald Trump said at a rally on Sunday. He also claimed that he “saved her” when she was up for reelection in 2022 by endorsing her gubernatorial bid.

On social media last November, just before she endorsed DeSantis, he predicted the “end of her political career in that MAGA would never support her again, just as MAGA will never support DeSanctimonious again” if she endorsed Desantis.

“They can now remain loyal to each other because nobody else wants them!!!” Donald Trump wrote.

On Monday, before the caucuses were over, Fox News’s Neil Cavuto asked Reynolds if she would support Donald Trump if he wins the primary. She said yes.

“I’m a Republican and, you know, all of the candidates running are gonna be better than what we have,” she said.

“Even after all the stuff he’s said about you?” Cavuto asked incredulously.

“Yeah, well because, you know, we’ve got to win,” she said.

Mary Trump shared that clip and summarized pithily: “Exhibit A that Republicans have no principles.”

Reynolds “just said the quiet part out loud when she stated she’d support Donald despite his attacks on her,” Mary Trump explained in a later post.
