Gay Republican group is now rooting for Joe Biden’s death

The gay conservative organization Log Cabin Republicans (LCR) of Los Angeles posted a meme to their Instagram stories that appeared to advocate for the death of President Joe Biden.

The meme – using the “Kombucha Girl” format – showed a woman disgusted while looking at the text “Joe Biden 2024,” a reference to Biden’s campaign. She then looks interested when the text changes to “Joe Biden 1942-2024.” Biden was born in 1942, so it was implying that it would be a good thing if he died this year.

The head of the local group also blamed LGBTQ+ people for the Club Q shooting.

The meme was screen-captured by Meidas Touch Network, but since it was in an Instagram story, it is no longer available. Several anti-transgender posts remain in the LCR of LA’s feed.

LCR has made its support for Donald Trump in this election cycle very clear, despite Trump’s abysmal record and Biden’s positive record on LGBTQ+ issues. Earlier this month, the group held a fundraiser at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, where Melania Trump made an appearance.

One of the co-hosts of the event described it as “the launch of the single most important and unprecedented gay and lesbian voter outreach initiative of any Republican presidential nominee in US political history.” He then called Trump “the most pro-gay president in American history.”

Last year, the organization named Isabella Riley Moody – a rightwing troll who has called gay people “groomers,” supported Uganda’s “Kill the Gays” law, and declared “Heil Hitler” – as one of their “Outspoken Ambassadors for 2023.”

The Log Cabin Republicans later removed her from their website.
