Mary Trump says Donald Trump should be sued for spreading the same lies as Rudy Giuliani

A jury recently ordered Rudy Giuliani to pay a whopping $148 million to two election workers who sued him for defamation after he accused them of tampering with votes. Now, Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, says the former president should also have to pay up.

On her Substack, Mary Trump wrote that evidence she possesses proves her uncle defamed the same workers – Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, who are mother and daughter – 23 times.

She said the day after Giuliani first began to lie about the workers’ actions on his podcast, Donald Trump began to spread the story at his rally in Valdosta, Georgia.

Giuliani had claimed Freeman and Moss forced observers to leave the room and then submitted suitcases filled with fraudulent ballots for Joe Biden. The room did need to be temporarily evacuated due to a water main break (which Giuliani claimed was a made-up story), but the jury determined that nothing suspicious took place during that time.

Giuliani also claimed he had a video that showed Moss and Freeman passing a USB drive like “vials of cocaine or heroin.” In reality, the video showed them sharing mints.

Mary Trump says that at his Georgia rally, her uncle showed a video of the mother and daughter at the voting center and also claimed that the pair eliminated a barrage of votes for Trump that could have helped him win. He also claimed there was no water main break and that the workers eliminated “ten times more [votes] than I need to win this state.”

She then said he continued to spread the lie in his infamous phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R), where he tried to convince the state official to “find 11,780 votes” to help him win.

According to Mary Trump, Donald Trump mentioned Ruby Freeman 18 times on the phone call.

“He allegedly referred to her as a ‘professional vote scammer,’ a ‘hustler’ and a ‘known political operative’ who ‘stuffed the ballot boxes,'” she wrote. “The results of this were catastrophic – the two women experienced violent harassment, death threats, and ruined lives.”

She said he also attacked Freeman at least four times on Truth Social, posting a screenshot of one post from January 4, 2023 where her uncle wrote that the water main break was “FAKE” and that only Freeman’s group returned to the room “with no security or vote watchers, grabbed the thousand and thousands of ballots hidden under a cloth skirted table, and began putting them into (STUFFING) the machines, all caught on tape, and so OBVIOUSLY WRONG.”

Mary Trump said she then spoke with attorney Joe Gallina, who told her Freeman and Moss “could 100%” sue Trump for defamation based on all of this.

He told her Freeman and Moss “successfully argued all four elements [in their case against Giuliani] – telling a lie, broadcasting it, showing malice, and harm – which were needed to prove defamation in court against Rudy Giuliani. Donald Trump appears to have committed all four as well.”

Mary Trump concluded, “Ruby Freeman & Shaye Moss’ lawyers now have the evidence. Here’s hoping they use it. I will continue to expose and compile evidence like it.”
