The man who was with anti-LGBTQ+ Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) when they were kicked out of a performance of the musical Beetlejuice reportedly co-owns a Colorado bar that has hosted LGBTQ+ events, including a drag show.

On Sunday night, Boebert and a male companion were escorted by security out of the city-owned Buell Theatre in Denver after the venue’s staff received multiple complaints that the couple was vaping, singing loudly, recording the show, and “causing a disturbance.”

On Wednesday, The Daily Mail reported that Boebert’s companion was Aspen bar owner Quinn Gallagher, and that the two have been “secretly dating” for several months. Boebert announced in May that she had filed for divorce from husband Jayson Boebert.

According to The Daily Mail, 46-year-old Gallagher co-owns Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar in Aspen, which has hosted multiple LGBTQ+ events. As Medias Touch Network notes, the bar hosted a “Winter Wonderland Burlesque & Drag Show” in January as well as multiple events for Aspen Gay Ski Week over the years.

Boebert meanwhile has a well-documented history of vilifying the LGBTQ+ community under the guise of protecting children from “sexualization” and “grooming.”

“I’ve criticized men dressing up as caricatures of women,” she said in a 2022 interview defending her anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric after the mass shooting at Colorado Springs gay club, Club Q. “We don’t need six-year-old children putting dollar bills in the thongs of grown men shaking and twerking in front of children…That is child abuse.”

In June of last year, Boebert tweeted “Take your children to CHURCH, not drag bars.” The following August, she posted another tweet opposing a drag queen story hour event at a local library. “Sending a message to all the drag queens out there: stay away from the children in Colorado’s Third District!” she wrote.

“It’s very surprising,” a “well-placed source” told The Daily Mail of Gallagher’s involvement with Boebert. “I always thought Quinn was a cool guy and a Democrat. His parents would be horrified because they are definitely blue.”

Surveillance video from the Buell Theatre appears to show Gallagher holding Boebert’s purse as they exit the venue, and the pair dancing outside. According to an incident report, Boebert berated venue staff, asking them “‘do you know who I am,’ ‘I am on the board’ [and] ‘I will be contacting the mayor.’”

Boebert confirmed that she was asked to leave the Sunday night performance, but denied vaping in the theater.
