Fox host says protecting kids from being forcibly outed is as bad as slavery in unhinged rant

While ranting about so-called parents’ rights, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld declared that policies banning LGBTQ+ youth from being forcibly outed to their parents are “the most amoral act since slavery.”

“I wouldn’t get mad at Republicans for helping parents,” Gutfeld said while discussing Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) recent pardon of a father who was convicted of disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice for protesting during a school board meeting.

The father, Sam Smith, was speaking out against his daughter’s sexual assault in a girl’s restroom by another student, an assault he claimed was due to “radical gender policies.”

But the Loudoun County prosecutor maintains that the attacker identifies as cisgender despite the fact that he was wearing a skirt at the time of the attack. Thus, he was not allowed to be in that bathroom. Beyond that, the school did not have an inclusive restroom policy when the incident took place.

“What’s next? You’re going to go after puppies, nuns, and babies? Well, they already do go after babies,” Gutfeld quipped.

He went on to claim that respecting the identities and privacy of LGBTQ+ youth is “sexual exploitation.”

Schools across the country are divided when it comes to policies about what information to share with parents about their children’s identities. Some have policies banning school staff from sharing anything with parents without a child’s permission, whereas others require staff to out students to their parents. In some states, legislation has been passed to require forced outing, which can put kids in dangerous situations if their parents are not accepting.

“They’re using it through this lie of privacy,” Gutfeld said. “It might be the most amoral act since slavery. I mean they’re actually coming for kids.”

“They say it’s an attack on children’s privacy by parents. That is not real. There is no privacy cocoon around kids from their parents.”

He claimed this “lie of privacy” allows “activists” and “perverts” to secretly talk to kids about their genitals.

He then praised Youngkin for protecting kids from “cowardly democrats,” “psychotic activists,” and the “least scientific medical theory in history currently being implemented on children.”

Every major medical association in the U.S. says that gender-affirming care is safe and essential to the well-being of trans youth and adults. Denying such care increases a trans person’s likelihood of emotional distress and mental illness, numerous studies show.
