Joe Rogan calls transphobes “so silly” for boycotting Bud Light

Massively popular anti-LGBTQ podcaster Joe Rogan said, “People are so silly” for boycotting Bud Light beer. Right-wingers began boycotting the beer in April after the brand collaborated with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

In a recent broadcast of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan opened a beer with his guest, country musician Zach Bryan, and said, “We’re drinking Bud Lights, ladies and gentlemen. Sorry. There’s nothing wrong with it. People are so silly. We were just talking about silliness.”

“One person made a really stupid decision, and now everybody’s decided that Bud Light is the enemy,” Rogan continued. “But that’s like this thing that people do in America, where they just decide, ‘Now I hate these people. These people are the enemy.'”

Bryan noted that he has drunk Bud Light for his “entire adult life,” and recently “p**sed” off some Twitter users after he defended his sister’s spouse for drinking the beer. Country music star Garth Brooks also recently said he will serve Bud Light in his new bar and “as**les” aren’t welcome.

The Bud Light boycott has been part of a larger right-wing cultural campaign against LGBTQ+ allies. Since the boycotts, Bud Light’s stock has lost 15% of its value or billions of dollars. The beer brand’s parent company said it never meant to “divide people;” Mulvaney blasted the brand for not supporting her during the transphobic backlash.

In the past, Rogan has falsely accused LGBTQ+ people of stealing the word “pride,” enabling students to use kitty litter boxes in schools, and telling straight kids they’ll “burn in hell” if they don’t turn gay.
