Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) woke up after a bad weekend’s worth of sleep this morning and complained on Twitter about how D.C. Pride revelers kept her up all night.
“These were my thoughts this morning after hearing the DC Pride events rage late into the night,” she wrote on Twitter at 10:45 a.m. today. “Sodom and Gomorrah in modern day times.”

“It’s not bad for kids to see there are different people out in the world.”
She quoted a tweet from her congressional account that denounced the “sexualization of our children.” By linking the two statements, she apparently was trying to compare Pride to child sex trafficking.

Greene wasn’t the only person on the right outraged by the Pride festivities in D.C. Many took to social media to denounce the White House for hanging a Progress Pride flag next to American flags for their Pride celebration.
Rep Mike Johnson (R-LA) even tried to say that the Pride flag was a violation of the flag code because the American flag wasn’t higher than the Pride flag. An American flag flies higher than any other flag at the White House since there’s one on the roof, something that Johnson didn’t show in his conveniently cropped photos.
On Twitter, people mocked Greene, Johnson, and others who were upset that the nation’s capital celebrated LGBTQ+ Pride.
