Lucy Hambley, 40, has pled guilty to plying a 13-year-old boy with alcohol and forcing him to have sex with her, which she said would show the victim that he’s actually straight.

The victim attempted suicide after she sexually assaulted him, and she has been sentenced to seven and a half years of prison for grooming and raping the victim repeatedly.

Prosecutor Heather Hope told the court in Truro, England that Hambley first met the child while she was doing yardwork and he offered to help. She then started being friends with the kid.

Hope said that Hambley invited the victim over for sleepovers. On one of them, she said, “I wish I had you in my bedroom.” The next sleepover, she gave the victim alcohol and cigarettes.

“The relationship changed soon after and she started to treat him as an adult partner,” Hope said in court. “The friendship lasted four weeks and then things changed. He confided in her that he was gay and she walked him into the bedroom and said she was going to prove he was straight before snogging [making out with] him on the bed.”

The next week she made the victim have penile-vaginal sex with her and wouldn’t get off of him until he ejaculated.

“She didn’t put a condom on him and told him she wanted to get pregnant by him which scared him,” Hope said. “She smacked him for playfighting. She would offer him alcohol and tobacco to go round.”

She then sent him naked pictures of herself and frequently sexually assaulted him. The abuse continued almost daily for nine months.

A neighbor who walked in on Hambley while she and the victim weren’t dressed, called Childline, and the victim eventually told his mother what was happening.

“I can’t go one day without crying and she has destroyed me and my self-worth. I feel useless, worthless and stupid,” he said in his victim impact statement, where he talked about his suicide attempts.

Sperm was found on Hambley’s bed and DNA testing showed that it was the victim’s.

Hambley pled guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a child. Her attorney Rupert Taylor argued that her guilty plea, her lack of prior convictions, and her own mental health issues should reduce her sentence.

“She is ashamed of her behavior,” Taylor said, according to Cornwall Live. “She was lonely and unhappy and suffering from anxiety and depression.”

He added that she was “lonely and unhappy” and “allowed her desire to override her good sense.”

Judge Anna Richardson said that she acknowledges Hembley’s own history as an abuse victim but that Hembley’s attempt to blame the victim showed “a significant degree of denial.”

“There is very distorted thinking, that he had all the control and manipulated you,” the judge said

“The pre-sentence report makes worrying reading and in it you attempt to place blame on your victim but you were the adult and in position of control and you abused it,” she said. “You told him not to tell anyone and repeatedly contacted him by phone to request he visit you. You showed him naked pictures of yourself you posted on dating sites and this all happened regularly. He didn’t want to see you but you continued to pursue him.”

Hambley was reportedly in tears as she was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison with a minimum of five that will have to be served and will have to register as a sex offender for life.
