Press Secretary Jen Psaki unloaded on Fox News reporter Peter Doocy when he attempted to malign the Biden administration for “stranding” Americans in Afghanistan.

The back-and-forth between the popular White House official and Fox’s clueless reporter has spawned the popular #PsakiBomb meme and, once again, she was the one who won the battle.

Doocy tried to mansplain the criticism of Biden’s decision to pull American troops out of the country, saying that it wasn’t pulling them out that caused issues, it was the way it was done. It left citizens and allies “stranded,” he said.

“First of all I think it’s irresponsible to say ‘Americans are stranded.’ They are not,” Psaki sharply replied. “We are committed to bringing Americans who want to come home, home. We are in touch with them via phone, via text, via email, via any way that we can possibly reach Americans, to get them home if they want to return home.”

When Doocy asked for clarification that there weren’t any Americans “stranded” inside the country, Psaki again rebuked him.

“I’m just calling you out for saying that we are stranding Americans in Afghanistan when we have been very clear that we are not leaving Americans who want to return home, we are going to bring them home and I think that’s important for the American public to hear and understand,” she said.

“No American is stranded.”

Psaki has quickly emerged as the most popular and engaging Biden administration official with her quick wit and forthright manner. After four years of Trump flunkies blatantly lying, attacking reporters over negative coverage, and avoiding outlets other than rightwing media, Americans and reporters have found her refreshing and honest.

But as she troops out to brief the press after a week away, Twitter is waiting with excitement for her to tear into Doocy when he inevitably asks whether she went on a pre-scheduled vacation for nefarious reasons.
