Out MSNBC host Rachel Maddow gave viewers an ominous warning about the future of the Republican Party and what they’ll do next on Thursday night.

“That is a road that ends in a very bad place and we are way down that road already,” said Maddow. “I’m not trying to be scary about this, but I find the place we are in here to be scary.”

With the GOP coalescing around former President Donald Trump’s fake claims of election fraud – including his reported delusions that he will be “reinstated” this summer along with two former Republican senators – Maddow gave two possible paths for the party.

While one includes the standard GOP attempts to suppress the vote, the other could lead to more violence by Trump supporters.

“What do we expect them to do? What wouldn’t they do? What does this lead to? When a major political party starts indulging this kind of stuff?” Maddow asked. “It doesn’t end up in anything that looks like politics.”
