Jerry Falwell Jr. got extremely drunk and fell down a flight of stairs, causing his wife Becki Falwell to call 911 say that he’s covered in “a lot of blood right now.”
The incident occurred a week after Falwell Jr. blamed his streak of recent scandals on an alleged years-long affair between his wife and a hotel pool attendant. The pool professional, Giancarlo Granda, came out later that same day saying that Jerry Falwell Jr. supported and participated in their sexual relationship.

“Becki and I developed an intimate relationship and Jerry enjoyed watching from the corner of the room,” he said. Jerry Falwell Jr. soon resigned from the conservative Christian Liberty University.

Now the HuffPost has obtained 911 audio from a week later. On August 30 Becki Falwell called Bedford County, Virginia dispatchers at 2:30 a.m.
On the call, Becki Falwell said that she was at church until 11 p.m. when her husband called her.
When the dispatcher asked if her husband had been drinking, she said, “Yes.” When she was asked if he was drinking “heavily,” she said, “I’m not going to answer that question.”
The dispatcher tried to get her to answer, saying that alcohol consumption can cause bleeding to become excessive.
“The more I tell you the name, the more you’re going to understand why we’re not talking to you right now,” she responded.
The dispatch logs say: “He won’t let her take him to the hospital as he is stubborn. Caller was not forthcoming.”
Emergency responders found Jerry Falwell Jr bleeding from the bridge of his nose and under his left eye, as well as above his eyes. The report says that he said he hit his head on a trash can and that there was blood on the trash can and “empty alcohol containers” in it.
“Jerry had slurred and slowed speach [sic] and would repeat things already asked.”
For years, Jerry Falwell Jr. has been caught flouting Liberty University’s rules, which ban “social dancing” and drinking alcohol, even for students over the age of 21. He has been spotted in nightclubs and posted pictures of himself with his pants undone to social media, with a drink in hand (he claims it was “black water”).
Jerry Falwell Jr. took over Liberty University after his father – Moral Majority co-founder and Liberty University co-founder Jerry Falwell Sr. – passed away. His tenure has been marked by multiple scandals, both sexual and financial, which were the subject of an in-depth Politico expose last year.
In the time since Granda came forward and accused the then 50-year-old couple of approaching him for sex when he was 20-years-old, he said that the Falwells “have been relentlessly harassing me and people close to me.”
He said that the people who worked at Liberty enabled Falwell’s bad behavior out of fear.
“Everyone at Liberty University treated the Falwells like a royal family,” Granda said. “Faculty, the Board, legal team and friends within the trusted ‘inner circle’ all looked the other way out of fear.”
The Falwells have not commented on the 911 call.
