Adele has her original version, but once you hear Billy Gilman cover, “When We Were Young” on The Voice, you might even forget hers.
Gilman’s soulful rendition of the hit song is featured on tonight’s episode. The former country singer, who hit the big time when he was 12 and came out in 2014, told the judges he felt honored just to be invited to audition.
“I started out as a young country artist and had great success…to finally be here in a moment where I can finally sing the way I so badly wanted to even then, and to finally stand here and be amongst you, it truthfully is such an honor.”
