The rapper was banned from Twitter in May after attacking Malik with anti-gay and racist slurs. Banks, who identifies as bisexual, called him a “Paki faggot,” “dick rider,” “punjab,” and “curry scented bitch.” Malik is of English-Pakistani descent.
Banks apologized for the rant against the former One Direction boybander, saying “Employing racial/sexual slurs/stereotypes in attempts to make fun of or degrade another person or group is absolutely unacceptable.” But apparently the insincere good girl schtick can only last so long.
After Malik was featured in a photo shoot for GQ Magazine, he posted the photos to his Instagram account. Banks quickly left a comment on the photo series, saying “He legit looks like he used to be a girl. He gives me transman teas.”
After outraged fans and activists started calling on the photo sharing social media site to follow Twitter’s lead and ban the rapper, she posted a mea culpa on her own account, saying PMS makes her lash out with hateful slurs.
“I’m going to make PMS my next personal research project. Im still not quite sure what it actually is or why it happens but it’s too real for me to just chalk it up to needing an attitude adjustment,” she wrote in the posting. “Yes… I need an attitude adjustment, but I also need to know what this chemical thing that’s happening to me every month is.”
Meanwhile, millions of women everywhere gave Banks the most severe case of side-eye known to humanity and why the famously pro-LGBT singer Lady Gaga is collaborating with Banks on a new single that was just leaked online – mysteriously around the same time Banks unleashed on social media and found a way to get herself in the headlines again.
This is not an excuse for anything. This is simply me noticing my behavioral patterns. I've never thought PMS'ing was a serious thing. I just regarded it as cramps and slight irritability but I realize as I get older that it's a real thing. I'm going to make PMS my next personal research project. Im still not quite sure what it actually is or why it happens but it's too real for me to just chalk it up to needing an attitude adjustment. Yes… I need an attitude adjustment, but I also need to know what this chemical thing that's happening to me every month is. #mentalhealthawareness
