NEW ORLEANS — Marriage equality supporters in Louisiana have given formal notice of their appeal of a federal court ruling upholding the state’s same-sex marriage ban. Forum for Equality Louisiana and several gay couples filed their notices Thursday and Friday in their challenge of the ban.

La. voters still against marriage equality, but opposition continues to decline
Voters in Louisiana remain strongly opposed to same-sex marriage but opposition continues to decline, according to the latest polling from Public Policy Polling. The poll released Tuesday finds that 55 percent of respondents said they opposed legalizing same-sex marriage in Louisiana, while 32 percent said they would support it.
