He has succeeded in getting 102 books banned from library shelves even though he’s admitted that he hasn’t read most of the books he objects to.

“It used to be a parent had learned about a given book and had an issue with it. Now we see campaigns.”

The “lunatics” included a woman who once asked the police to investigate school libraries for offering an LGBTQ-themed book.

“I hope that if the library sees this there will really be no point in banning LGBTQ books and so they won’t actually do it.”

Three authors recently targeted by the religious right and Republicans spoke with LGBTQ Nation about being at the center of controversy.

Across the country, conservatives have been clutching their pearls at the thought of young people reading about LGBTQ identities. 

“This just isn’t any old book banning, [the district] targeted and removed books that are from the perspective and viewpoint of racial or sexual minorities.”

The right is weaponizing Q-Anon ideology and sexual assault to ban LGBTQ books, putting kids in danger.

“Who I am is a child of God and it influences everything I say and do.”
