Folks are calling out anti-LGBTQ+ Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for spreading unhinged lies about abortion providers performing experiments on babies after birth.
“Abortion providers are literally ripping the hearts, kidneys, and brain tissue out of babies born alive and without anesthesia to perform sick experiments on them,” Greene wrote on X Sunday afternoon, perpetuating a false conspiracy theory.

“You don’t make posts like this when you’re winning,” one person replied.
“Where is the humanity? This type of work is pure evil. And in most cases, it’s illegal. That’s why I’m holding a Hearing on Investigating the Black Market of Baby Organ Harvesting this Tuesday at 2 PM ET.”

Greene’s post included information purportedly from anti-abortion and anti-vax activist Dr. Theresa Deisher, who claimed – according to a post from the right-wing account Wall Street Apes – that babies are being born alive and having their organs harvested for research while their hearts are still beating.
The accusations could stem from a debunked claim that Planned Parenthood was selling fetal tissue for profit in violation of federal law after anti-abortion activists tried and failed to entrap the organization in 2015. The man behind the attempted entrapment – David Daleiden – is set to speak at Greene’s upcoming hearing.
But folks on X had no time for Greene’s nonsense. One popular progressive account eviscerated Greene for creating a “cocktail of falsehoods and fearmongering designed to distort public perception.”
The post continued, “These narratives are not just factually bankrupt; they’re part of a larger strategy to erode public confidence in science and medicine.”
The post also pointed out that “Greene’s depiction of fetal tissue research is a scare tactic, pure and simple.”
“This research is governed by stringent ethical standards and laws, contrary to the wild west scenario she’s painting. The notion of researchers preying on live babies for experiments is not just scientifically ludicrous; it’s an intentional deception aimed at conflating legal research with barbaric acts. This is not about protecting the unborn; it’s about undermining trust in science and medical ethics for political gain.”
Many others chimed in to share similar thoughts.
In 2021, Greene was removed from all her House committee assignments for pushing conspiracy theories online, including ones that proclaimed that all school shootings are fake, that a plane never hit the Pentagon during the September 11 terrorist attacks, that California wildfires were started by a Jewish-owned space laser, and accusing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of slicing off a child’s face and wearing it.
