Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is apparently not very well-liked in her caucus at the moment.
At the Washington Press Club Foundation’s annual congressional dinner Wednesday night, Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) decided to throw some shade at Boebert during her humorous speech… and she went in deep.

She also said schools who teach about “same-sex sex” should have their funding cut.
“Please keep your hands above the table, and I know it’s date night for some of you but no inappropriate touching,” McClain said. “That includes you Lauren Boebert. No vaping either.”

McClain was referring to how Boebert got kicked out of a stage performance of Beetlejuice the musical last year after she was caught vaping and groping her date. Boebert has since apologized for her behavior and also blamed it on her “public and difficult divorce.”
Boebert is one of the most anti-LGBTQ+ members of the House, and McClain has also tried to use anti-LGBTQ+ policies to boost her profile. She called a hearing on transgender youth participating in school sports but didn’t invite a single transgender person to speak.
She then introduced a transgender sports ban even though House Republicans have already passed a transgender sports ban this session. Her bill has no chance of becoming law.
Earlier this week, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) appeared to revel in the idea of Boebert losing her reelection bid. After Boebert came in fifth in a very unscientific straw poll for the GOP primary in her new district, Greene told a reporter that Boebert “should be very concerned about” the poll and that she needs to “earn those people’s support.”
“I think that’s a serious primary, and it seems like there’s some good candidates in there,” Greene said, not specifying whether those “good candidates” include Boebert.
