Sophia Hutchins, the 26-year-old transgender manager of right-wing trans conservative Caitlyn Jenner, reportedly went to former President Donald Trump’s celebration party after he won the January 15 Iowa caucuses. Hutchins’ participation is notable considering Trump’s transphobia.
“Iowa bound!!!! @TeamTrump,” Hutchins wrote an Instagram post that included her face. The post was reposted on X by the right-wing watchdog account Patriot Takes.

“Sophia, who has made appearances on Caitlyn Jenner’s reality show, was there to ‘celebrate such a monumental night for MAGA [Make America Great Again],'” Patriot Takes wrote in a follow-up post. “Sophia promoted caucusing for Trump, attended the victory celebration, and took photos with some of Trump’s inner circle.”
It is unclear how Hutchins attended the party, whether she was invited or who invited her.
Trump surrogates Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) both made anti-trans statements while stumping for Trump in Iowa, according to video posted to the social media platform of transphobic comments they made while speaking during the caucuses.
“Under President Trump, there were only two genders — remember that? Male and female.” Greene said during her stump speech. “And we didn’t have men trying to be women in women’s sports, and we need to restore those values.”
Greene and Trump both support banning trans women from competitive sports and banning gender-affirming care for transgender minors. Greene has called trans athletes “terrorists” and supported a federal bill to ban trans females from sports. During his presidency, Trump also banned trans people from serving in the military.
Speaking on the issue, Trump has said, “As president, I will sign a new executive order instructing every federal agency to cease the promotion of sex and gender transition at any age. I will then ask Congress to send me a bill prohibiting child sexual mutilation in all 50 states, and I will keep men out of women’s sports.”
Despite Trump and Greene’s claim, trans people have always existed and genital surgeries are almost never conducted on trans minors.
When speaking to individual Iowa caucus-goers, Gaetz said, “[Here on the Right, there are] surprises and there’s joy. This is festive and cool and something you want to be a part of. And you look at the Left, and hydra so sad and boring and trans.”
Gaetz also supports transphobic federal legislation and once posted on X mocking and misgendering trans collegiate swimmer Lia Thomas.
Caitlyn Jenner, who is a Trump supporter estranged from ex-wife Kris Jenner, previously discussed her future dating prospects on her reality show I Am Cait.
“To be honest with you, I can’t see myself dating women in the future. I’ve been there done that. I’ve got three very strong ex-wives. I just don’t see it,” she said.
“If I was in a relationship with a guy, I would enjoy being treated like that—opening doors for you, doing all what you think is the traditional stuff in a guy and a girl relationship,” she added. “They have to be a very special guy to be able to do that.”
Hutchins denies that she and Jenner were romantically involved.
