Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) took to social media to proclaim her outrage that her state’s supreme court ruled that Donald Trump isn’t eligible to be on Colorado’s Republican primary ballot.

“This is extreme judicial activism that is designed to suppress the vote and voices of hundreds of thousands of Coloradans, which is absolutely unacceptable,” she wrote on X, calling the Colorado Supreme Court justices “liberals” and their decision “horrible.”

“We will fight this every step of the way!”

The Colorado Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision yesterday that Trump is not qualified to be president under the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which bans people who “engaged in insurrection” from holding public office. The court was referring to his incitement of the January 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection, where Trump supporters stormed Congress and chanted for the death of Mike Pence in a desperate attempt to stop the certification of the 2020 election and install Trump as president. Five people died as a result of the events of that day and 140 police officers were injured.

“We do not reach these conclusions lightly. We are mindful of the magnitude and weight of the questions now before us,” the court’s majority wrote. “We are likewise mindful of our solemn duty to apply the law, without fear or favor, and without being swayed by public reaction to the decisions that the law mandates we reach.”

The Trump campaign called the decision “flawed” and promised to appeal to the Supreme Court. Trump appointed three of the nine members of the Supreme Court and another three were appointed by previous Republican presidents, which may play a role in their ultimate decision.

But Boebert wasn’t done being angry at the decision, and she accused the judges of “corruption.”

“There’s a sound of redemption that will come out of Colorado that will cancel this sound of corruption!” she wrote.

Boebert has faced accusations that she supported the insurrection before it happened. The organizers of the January 6 rally said that they met with Boebert as well as other members of Congress.

“We would talk to Boebert’s team, [former Rep. Madison] Cawthorn’s team, [Rep. Paul] Gosar’s team like back to back to back to back,” one of the planners told Rolling Stone in 2021.

Boebert also got flak for tweeting out the locations of officials as the Capitol was being stormed by Trump supporters.
