A 15-foot balloon of out gay Rep. George Santos (R-NY) appeared in front of the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday morning, just days before the House is expected to vote on his possible ouster amid campaign finance fraud allegations.

The progressive organization MoveOn Political Action displayed the balloon which depicted the glasses-wearing lawmaker with the words “Full of Lies” written on his red tie. The organization has called on Santos to resign, but he has refused to.

A November 16 report from the U.S. House Ethics Committee accused Santos of spending campaign funds on luxury goods, OnlyFans subscriptions, and cosmetic Botox treatments. Less than 24 hours after the committee issued its report, its chair Michael Guest (R-MS) introduced a resolution to expel Santos.

On Tuesday, gay Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) introduced a privileged resolution to expel Santos, giving the Republican-led House just 48 hours to vote on the matter. Garcia’s resolution puts additional pressure to resign before being ousted by his colleagues.

While Santos recently said that he expects to be expelled, despite surviving two previous attempts, he has also refused to resign, stating, “I’m not leaving. Come hell or high water, it’s done when I say it’s done.”

Santos has admitted to fabricating large parts of his personal history during his election campaign. He is facing 23 federal charges of campaign finance fraud.
