Social media commenters think that Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings recently came out as bisexual after he commented “I go both ways” in a recent episode.
While presenting the new Triple Jeopardy! round for Celebrity Jeopardy!, Jennings read aloud the topic categories. One of the categories was “‘I’ can go either way.”

Some of the gameshow’s most popular (and successful!) contestants have come from the LGBTQ community.
Before reading the category name, Jennings said, “Fun act about me” and then read the category name — “‘I’ can go either way.” He added, “A lot of people don’t know that,” while contestants and audience members laughed.

It’s unclear if Jennings was actually coming out as bi. While the phrase “I go both ways” often refers to bisexuality, it’s aan ambiguous phrase that can signify one’s openness to two different choices. (For example, someone might say, “Would I prefer Chinese or Japanese food for dinner? Hmm… I go both ways, really.”)
Jennings is married to his wife, Mindy, and they have two children. They met while both attending Bringham Young University in Provo, Utah. They married soon after graduation. Lots of bisexual men marry women, and marriage to a different-sex partner doesn’t invalidate anyone’s bisexuality.
Nevertheless, several Twitter users commented on his “coming out” and congratulated him too.
This isn’t the first homoerotic comment Jennings has had. The Sun noted that during the 2020 Greatest of All Time Jeopardy! Masters Tournament, Jennings — who is a former Jeopardy! champion — joked about James Holzhauer, a contestant that he once defeated.
Reading a clue during the tournament, Jenning said, “The Detroit Free Press said The Mummy was ‘vintage’ this novelist; ‘elegantly erotic and full of enchanting terror.'”
Contestant Matt Amodio incorrectly responded, “What’s Stoker?” Jennings jokingly responded, “I also refer to James as ‘elegantly erotic but full of enchanting terror.'” The contestants and studio audience laughed, and then Jennings gave the correct answer: “Anne Rice.”
Holzhauer quickly responded, “Keep it in your pants, Ken.”
Jennings also had a brief queer exchange in May, when contestant Kevin Belle (who performs in drag as Ginger Whiskey) urged Jennings to wear drag in a future episode. Belle told Jennings that it might spice up the show.
“You’ve got a very talented makeup crew here, Ken, and I was hoping maybe one day we could convince you to do it here as well,” Belle suggested.
Jennings laughed but didn’t dismiss the idea.
“I was trying to think of a good Jeopardy!-themed drag name,” he said. “Maybe Della Double?”
“Miss Information might be nice too,” Belle volunteered.
“That’s nice,” Jennings replied. “I invite you to brainstorm, Kevin. This is not my world.”
On its official Instagram account, Jeopardy! invited fans to suggest names for Jennings’ drag persona. Commenters suggested Anne Sir, Formava Question, Cher DaClues, Gia Pardee, Kat deGorie, and Clue-ella DeVille.
