Flight attendant goes viral with his lip-sync safety announcement

Stafan Peters, an American Airlines flight attendant, has gone viral after a passenger posted a video of his pre-flight safety demonstration on TikTok.

With tens of thousands of likes and over a half million views, the lip-syncing safety specialist is winning over frequent fliers with his unique style. While the usual pre-recorded announcement is predictably bland, Peters spices things up.

While the female voice drones on about exit rows and oxygen masks, he gives the obligatory announcement some pizazz, a little style.

A fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race, but not a drag queen himself, Peters lip-syncs along with the voice and throws in a little extra while pointing out emergency lights and demonstrating how to don life vests.

Best of all, at least in his view, a passenger can be seen in the video pulling out the safety card to take a closer look.

“A lot of times with people who fly a lot, they tend to zone out during the safety demonstration. One of the most important parts of my job is giving safety demonstrations because, first and foremost, flight attendants are there for safety,” Peters told the Advocate. “So, I started doing it as a way to engage people to pay attention.”

“So, the fact that in that video, a guy pulls out the safety card, I love that because that means I’m doing my job of informing you of the safety features, and in the unlikely event that’s something where to happen that you’ll be prepared. You’ll remember it.”

Last year, a flight attendant went viral after she surprised travelers by proposing to a pilot over the PA system.
