Donald Trump mocked the U.S. Women’s Soccer team after its earliest-ever elimination from the World Cup on Sunday following a loss to Sweden. Somehow, Trump managed to blame the loss on President Joe Biden and “woke” politics.
“The ‘shocking and totally unexpected’ loss by the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team to Sweden is fully emblematic of what is happening to the our [sic] once great Nation under Crooked Joe Biden,” the 2024 presidential candidate wrote on Truth Social. “Many of our players were openly hostile to America – No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close. WOKE EQUALS FAILURE.”

“Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! MAGA,” Trump wrote.
Trump has long sparred with Rapinoe, who declared in 2019 when Trump was president that she would not be “going to the f**king White House if the US Women’s National Team won the World Cup.
In response, Trump invited the team to the White House regardless of whether they won or lost. He also criticized Rapinoe’s habit of kneeling and not singing the National Anthem before games in support of former NFL player Colin Kaepernick’s protest of America’s institutional racism.
Trump tweeted, “Megan should WIN first before she TALKS! Finish the job! … Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team.”
In contrast to Trump’s hateful message following the team’s loss on Sunday, Biden tweeted a message to the team saying that “you’ve made your country proud.”
“Congratulations on an incredible run,” Biden continued. “This team is something special and I’m looking forward to seeing how you continue to inspire Americans with your grit and determination – on and off the field.”
