Barbie-mania may have hit a fever pitch before the movie hits theaters next week. Based on an iconic doll that’s been marketed to little girls for decades – complete with accessories of every kind – is it any wonder that the studio has enthusiastically agreed to collab with several other brands?
But no one could have predicted that the pairing with Cold Stone Creamery would rocket to the top of social media. A new viral TikTok trend has users gayly going pink for a cotton candy-flavored treat – the Barbie Shake.

Cold Stone suggests pairings like the “Best Cake Ever,” an ice cream cake made with yellow cake, pink cotton candy ice cream, heaps of frosting, and a ton of sprinkles, or the “All the Glitters is Pink Creation,” consisting of ice cream, graham cracker pie crust crumbles, whipped topping, and, of course, more sprinkles.

But the Barbie Shake has captured the spotlight as men taste test the sparkly shake and suddenly embrace the Barbiecore aesthetic – complete with wigs, skirts, heels, and, naturally, an perspicacity of pink. With millions of views and dozens of videos, it’s become impossible to escape the combo.
And since director Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” looks gloriously gay, it seems to be the best combo available at Cold Stone – and on social media.
