When a group of neo-Nazis decided to intimidate revelers at a Washington state Pride festival, they got more than they bargained for.

Members of the Evergreen Active Club and Rose City Nationalists, most of whom wore masks to conceal their identities, showed up early at Centralia’s Lewis County Pride to spout white supremacist and anti-LGBTQ+ propaganda but ended up leaving after losing a pushup contest and being twerked at.

The group didn’t manage “intimidation” well. After being challenged to a pushup contest by one attendee, the bigot quickly lost the competition and surrendered.

While most wore masks to conceal their identities, one group member has been identified. Daniel Rowe, the founder of the neo-nazi group Evergreen Active Club has been convicted of stabbing an interracial couple in 2016.

When a woman came up and started twerking behind him after he shouted slurs for a while, Rowe abandoned his post and walked away.

Giving up, the group of men tried to go to several restaurants and bars in the area. They were denied service at each establishment. Completely beaten, they retreated to their cars.

A Pride organizer followed the group back to their vehicles and filmed their license plates to be able to identify the other members.

“Our visibility, safety, and sense of belonging are not up for negotiation. Least of all because of outside self-professed Nazis attempting to storm and disrupt our events,” the Lewis County Dignity Guild, one of the groups that helped organize the festival, told the media.

“This community was ready as soon as these agitators showed up and we outnumbered their hate with love. We remained happy in the face of their hatred.”
