A famous Canadian drag queen is being targeted by right wing trolls for a Hocus Pocus 2 promo posted by Disney+ Canada’s Twitter account.
The clip, touting the sequel’s September 30 release as well as teasing a premiere event at Toronto’s Eaton Centre, features Canada’s Drag Race season one winner Priyanka casting a spell to turn herself into all three of the Hocus Pocus witches (played in the film by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy).

Right wing Twitter lost its mind over the innocuous video, with users vowing to cancel their Disney+ subscriptions and even going so far as to label the former children’s TV host a “groomer” and a “pedophile.”
“Does an exciting collaboration with Disney, gets called a peadophile and groomer, the homophobia is alive and well in 2022,” Priyanka tweeted in response to the backlash.
