In Thailand, the criminalization of consensual prostitution forces sex workers to keep their work underground and not seek help when harmed.

Empower, a sex workers’ rights foundation, has been battling the stigma and outdated laws for years, including petitioning parliament to decriminalize the industry.

The group joined with a prominent human rights activist and LGBTQ activists to put on a fashion show to highlight the country’s history of sex work and show that it is, indeed, legitimate work that deserves fair wages and respect.
