The Human Rights Campaign annual national dinner was as eventful as ever last night with anti-Trump sentiments being shared throughout the evening – in great force.
“I don’t have to tell any of you that we are living through truly frightening times,” HRC President Chad Griffin said. “Day after day, we’ve seen our most fundamental rights under attack by the highest levels of government, and the headlines couldn’t be any worse.”
Among the evening’s attendees were Eric Holder, Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians), Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway, and Olympic figure skating medalist Adam Rippon. Sens. Cory Booker and Kamala Harris made appearances, too.
Instead of using the full might of the executive branch for security, dignity and safety for all, “the President uses the White House as a literal bully pulpit,” former Vice President Joe Biden told the revved up crowd.

Chants of “Run Joe Run!” could be heard throughout the auditorium.
Biden has yet to confirm if he’ll run against Trump in 2020.
But he left no stone unturned when sharing his disdain for the 45th president of the United States.

The HRC National Dinner is part of a weekend of events in Washington, DC, galvanizing HRC’s members and supporters as the organization heads into the final days of its get out the vote efforts for the critically important midterm elections.
Last year, HRC announced a coast-to-coast campaign to mobilize these voters for the midterms called HRC Rising, which represents the largest grassroots expansion in the organization’s 38-year history.
