Sara Cunningham, a mother of two from Oklahoma, made a heart-warming offer on Facebook: she’ll attend LGBTQ people’s weddings if their moms won’t.

PSA. If you need a mom to attend your same sex wedding because your biological mom won't. Call me. I'm there. I'll be your biggest fan. I'll even bring the bubbles.

Cunningham is an ordained minister and one of her sons is gay. She said that when he came out, she decided to fight “for him and the LGBTQ community like my hair is on fire because I’ve seen the power of what fear and ignorance can do.”

For the past two years, she has performed a lot of marriages for same-sex couples, and she kept on hearing about how parents would refuse to attend their kids’ weddings or even acknowledge their relationships.

“The post came from hearing from several same-sex couples — how their parents refuse to attend their wedding, or even acknowledge their relationships,” she said.

So she offered her services to make that day better. She has already gotten over 8000 likes on Facebook since she posted the offer on Friday.

She told Buzzfeed that she has received six wedding invitations so far.

“People need hope — I sure do — and we need to be that for each other in any way, shape, or form,” she said. “Hope never disappoints.”
