The body of 26 year-old transgender woman Brandi Seals was discovered Wednesday morning in Houston. She was found at a home construction site in the Sunnyside neighborhood in the Southeastern part of the city, TransGriot reports.
2017 has been the deadliest year on record for transgender persons in America, and most, like Seals, have been trans women of color.
Seals’s aunt described her as “a loving person” and “a beautiful person.”
Neighbors reported hearing gunshots, but few other details have been offered by authorities, and so far there are no suspects. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477 so that her murderer can be brought to justice.
