Gay icon Kathy Griffin has taken a dramatic step to support her sister, Joyce. As a way of showing support while her sister undergoes chemotherapy cancer, the comedian has shaved her head according to journalist Yashar Ali.

Griffin’s mother, Maggie, responded to Ali’s tweet with one of her own – and it sums up what many of us already knew.

Griffin’s family has dealt with cancer before. Her eldest brother, Gary, died in 2014 after losing his battle with esophageal cancer. He was 63.
