Former Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner gave some off-color commentary about Donald Trump’s disastrous presidency and it’s so accurate it hurts. Speaking at a trade show in Las Vegas, Boehner opened up on the state of modern politics – a condition he helped shape, by the way.
One thing Boehner couldn’t understand is why Trump keeps shooting himself in the foot on Twitter by attacking the press and generally being an online troll.
“You never get into a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel. He does it every day.” Boehner said, “Never get into a pissing match with a skunk. He does it every day.”
If he keeps dividing the party and putting them on constant defense, he warned “they’re going to get annihilated” in the midterm elections.

He also added in what could possibly be the worst burn of all, that while he considered Trump a “friend” and a former campaign donor, he didn’t expect him to win the election.
“I never really saw him as president. You all know what I mean,” he told the room as the audience laughed.
