Trans pianist to perform at Mets LGBT Pride Night

The New York Mets have big plans for its LGBT Pride night next week, billed as its first-ever — although it should be noted, the team previously hosted an “LGBT Community Night” at its old stadium in 2004 and its current home, Citi Field, in 2011, as Outsports reported.

Transgender pianist Sara Davis Buechner, pictured above wearing a Mets jersey, will be leading fans in a sing-a-long of “Meet the Mets,” the team’s sappy, saccharine-sweet theme song, according to her Facebook page. Joe.My.God spotted the post and broke the news Thursday.

Also performing at a postgame concert on August 13 will be the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Marching Band and dance legend Martha Walsh.

Details and tickets are available on the New York Mets website.
