Isadora Cerullo is one of more than 40 openly LGBTQ competitors at this summer’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and even though she won’t be bringing home the gold, her girlfriend did put a ring on it, or at least a yellow ribbon.

Photographs and video of the golden moment when Marjorie Enya asked Cerullo, a rugby player for Team Brazil, to marry her have now gone viral.

As the BBC, BuzzFeed and PinkNews reported, after Cerullo’s team lost to Australia, Enya walked onto the pitch with a microphone, and popped the question.

Cerullo cried, the crowd cheered and then Enya got the answer she had hoped for: her girlfriend of two years said, “yes!”

“As soon as I knew she was in the squad I thought I have to make this special,” Enya told the BBC .

She descibed Cerullo as “the love of my life,” and said the public proposal didn’t make her nervous at all, and that she wanted to send a message to everyone who saw them embrace:

“I wanted to show people that love wins.”
