One day after she was criticized for a photoshopped image of her riding Olympian and world’s fastest human, Usain Bolt, DeGeneres shared a picture of herself with her wife of eight years, Portia de Rossi.
A simple caption accompanied a paparazzi photo of the happy couple: “Best thing I ever did. #8Years #HappyAnniversary”
As Gay Star News reported, they got hitched in 2008, when same-sex marriage was legal in California before it was outlawed by the Proposition 8 referendum.
The couple’s nuptials made the cover of People.
