Gay man attacked in Bronx subway station

An unidentified 48-year-old gay man was attacked in a Bronx subway station earlier this month according to police.

The attacker pushed the man down a flight of stairs and punched and kicked him repeatedly, breaking his nose. The assailant reportedly told the victim, “You faggots make me sick” before launching his attack.

Police say the victim was exiting a D train station at the 183rd St-Grand Concourse station around midnight on June 4 when the attack occurred. No arrests have been made and the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.

The New York Daily News spoke to the man’s neighbor about the incident and she painted a glowing picture of the victim.

“Somebody pushed him down the stairs from behind and started beating on his face,” Evelyn Reyes told the paper. “He’s black and blue all around his eyes.”

“He’s a nice person. Always says good morning. He’s nice.”
