Awesome: Transgender shopper utterly wrecks antigay Target protester

As you know, right-wing protesters have taking to trudging through Target stores, past the aisles of Evolve briefs and Clue game boards, to cause generic mayhem in order to protest the department store’s decision to let transgender people use the bathroom of the gender they most identify with.

Well, in an unexpected twist — unexpectedly caught on a smartphone and now unexpectedly being shared by blogs like this ad infinitum — one of those protesters just came face-to-face with an actual trans person, and the results are pretty glorious (if shakily hand-held.)

Currently, over a million people have joined the Target boycott since the chain announced it “welcomes transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”

First discovered by JoeMyGod, the footage features a protester filming himself stomping aimlessly into Target, yelling “Do not come to Target! They let transgender people in the bathroom!”

Then, another shopper interrupts him, saying, “You know what? There’s a transgender person right here, so you can just keep on walking! Get right on that.”

The protester weakly counters: “You’re going to hell.”

Angry trans shopper: “Yeah, and you’re going to be an asshole for the rest of your life!”

Later the shopper enters the fracas again, once hearing the protester shout about “grown men in the little kids’ bathroom.”

The shopper’s response: “Trans women aren’t men asshole, they’re women!”

Then the protester — duh — asks whether the shopper is “a man or a woman.”

The response: “That’s none of your f**king business, is it?”

The protester urges shoppers to “turn to Jesus Christ” and threatens to sue anyone who comes near him, saying that homosexuals are an “abomination” and telling bargain hunters that they should repent.

Then he’s escorted out by security.
