Pink News reports that a costume company has come under fire for its planned “Call Me Caitlyn” costume, currently for sale at Any Time Costumes and Wholesale Halloween Costumes.
The product copy for the costume reads:
“If you want some ‘Vanity’ this Halloween, then try wearing the Unisex Call Me Caitlyn Costume. You probably won’t break any Twitter records when you wear this outfit like Caitlyn did when she first made her account, but you’ll be sure to get a few laughs out of your friends and the other guests at the get together.”
Attempting to justify the costume, a representative from Spirit Halloween told the New York Times that “Caitlyn Jenner has proven to be the most important real-life superhero of the year. Spirit Halloween is proud to carry the costume that celebrates her.”
She also noted that another planned costume — the Call Me Caitlyn Mr. Olympian Costume Kit –has been discontinued following customer complaints.

Fans of Caitlyn Jenner have expressed their outrage on Twitter.
“I will personally fight anyone wearing a Caitlyn Jenner Halloween costume this year,” said one.
Another person asked, “Am I the only one who’s offended that Spirit Halloween will send a Caitlyn Jenner Halloween costume this year?”
