Rosie O’Donnell explains why she didn’t address her departure from ‘The View’

NEW YORK — Rosie O’Donnell opened up Monday afternoon about her planned departure from ABC’s “The View” this week after being tight lipped on the subject during today’s broadcast.

In a video posted on her website, O’Donnell elaborated on her reasons for leaving the show, and said that it was her decision not to talk about her departure on Monday’s show because she had already spoken publicly about who she’s leaving.

The news that O’Donnell is leaving “The View” came with an additional announcement that she has separated from her wife of three years, Michelle Rounds.

“I’m minimizing my stress by leaving The View, and the stress I am having at home is not as easily as remediable,” she said.
