Target snubs boycott by featuring same-sex parents in latest campaign

Barely a month after a number of anti-gay groups called for a nationwide boycott of Target stores after the retailer signed on to a legal brief supporting marriage equality, the chain has released a new advertisement featuring same-sex parents.

Good as You calls our attention to Target’s “Made to matter” video, which features a brief glimpse of two dads and their son (around the 0:19 mark).

Last month, Target Corp. added its name to a court brief backing marriage equality in the federal challenge to Indiana and Wisconsin’s same-sex marriage bans.

“It is our belief that everyone should be treated equally under the law, and that includes rights we believe individuals should have related to marriage,” Target Executive Vice President of Human Resources Jodee Kozlak wrote on the company’s blog.
