NEW YORK — Radio personality Howard Stern this week angrily denounced anti-gay pronouncements and efforts by the right-wing conservative christian group “One Million Moms” to force retail giant JC Penny to remove Ellen DeGeneres as the company’s new spokesperson. Stern said that he backed Ellen and would defend her from the “fucking bigots.”
Stern and co-host Robin Quivers also discussed anti-gay leaders — including U.S. Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) and former U.S. Senator and now presidential hopeful Rick Santorum (R-Penn.) — and their ongoing efforts to marginalise the American LGBTQ community.
Stern made reference to a Rolling Stone article published last week that highlighted the rash of suicides in the Anoka-Hennepin school district (which is located in Bachmann’s Congressional district)
Stern called it “fucking ludicrous” that the “no homo” campaigns by so-called soccer moms were causing innocents kids to take their own lives. Listen:
