Homophobic Ted Cruz unwittingly features lesbian adult film star in campaign ad

Antigay presidential hopeful Ted Cruz has yanked a new ad after discovering the featured actress previously starred in a handful of softcore adult films.

The ad, titled “Conservatives Anonymous,” was released Thursday. It features a woman stridently asking Americans to “vote for more than just a pretty face next time.” (A joke at Marco Rubio that doesn’t quite land.)

The joke that does land is the fact that the woman is played by Amy Lindsay, an actress who’s appeared in such films as Secrets of a Chambermaid, Milf, Sex Sent Me To The ER, and Carnal Wishes.

Cruz’s team quickly pulled the ad, claiming they had no idea of Lindsay’s previous work.

Catherine Frazier, Cruz’s press secretary, was quick to point out that the campaign would never knowingly hire an adult film actress.

“Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the casting company,” she said. “Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad. The campaign is taking the ad down and will replace it with a different commercial.”

The actress is, in fact, a Republican and a Christian conservative — and she thought it’d be “cool” for a porn star to star in a political ad.

She told Buzzfeed, ” “In a cool way, then hey, then it’s not just some old, white Christian bigot that people want to say, ‘It could be, maybe, a cool kind of open-minded woman like me.'”
