Congressman: ‘Real men’ oppose same-sex marriage, protect ‘your woman’

U.S. Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kansas), the chief sponsor of the Federal Marriage Amendment, had a message for “every man in America” at Thursday’s “March for Marriage” rally in Washington: “Your woman, your wife, she needs you, it’s time you become a real man and stand up.”

Possibly under the impression that the legalization of same-sex marriage will break up opposite-sex unions, the Kansas Republican congressman emphasized that he loves his wife and believes that men who love their wives must join the fight to stop marriage equality.

“Be a real man of God because this is about you and your wife and your children,” he said.

The rally was sponsored by the National Organization for Marriage. The Associated Press reported there to be between 1,000 and 2,000 attendees.
